People who are running an industry need to choose industrial motors according to the nature of prevailing applications. AC motors requires alternating current to run whereas DC motors needs direct current for successful operation. Stepper motor, DC brush motor, brushless DC motors are some of the motors available in the market. Linear Actuator is used to control motion of a device which requires high speed and accuracy.
Are you an industrialist? If yes, then you might be looking out for best suited industrial motors in order to run applications smoothly. Before proceeding further you must know that there are two types of voltage currents on which these motors work such as alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). It is noteworthy that AC motors require alternating current to operate whereas DC motors require direct current to work upon.
It is essential to find out the availability of voltage source present in prevailing application and after making out the nature of voltages industrialists must move on to choose the best motor accordingly.
Industrialists who are having only AC voltage current in their applications then they must choose induction motors like Single Phase Induction, Three Phase Induction, Two Phase Servo, and Hysteresis Synchronous. Industrialists who are running their applications on direct current voltages must prefer stepper motor, brushed DC motor and brushless DC motor. As far as stepper motor is concerned it is a brushless, synchronous electric motor which has the ability to divide full rotation in to a large number of steps.
Its position can be controlled precisely without any feedback mechanism (see Open-loop controller), as long as the motor is carefully sized to the application. These motors use magnetic field for its rotor movement and voltage play a vital role in changing polarity of poles applied to its rotor. DC brushed and brushless motors as the name suggests require direct voltage current to run.DC brushed motors contain brushes and requires higher maintenance as compared to brushless ones. Moreover, there is a possibility of brush wear and sparking. On the other hand brushless DC motors does not contain brushes so there is no need to bother about brush wear and sparking. It requires solid state controls and feedback devises for smooth operation. Moreover, it can handle high speed and starting torques with predictable performance. It is true that more power output can be obtained in smaller packages but electronic controls make it slightly expensive for industrialists.
Industrialists usually go for motion controlling devises because it plays a vital role in manufacturing and processing industries. These devices are used at areas where high force motion control, accuracy and high speed is being demanded. Linear actuator ensures the safety of valuable machines and takes active participation in enhancing the performance and productivity of different industries. It is used to lift heavy items and handle high speed of applications running in an industry.
